July 15, 2012 - Two Black Ice teams swept their opponents over the weekend. Both the 12u and
18u lasted through sweltering heat and severe thunderstorms to take their respective
championships.
The Black Ice 12U won the 2012 Central Maryland League tournament, going 5-1 and defeating
rival team LT Lazers for the first place trophy. This is the third tournament win for the unstoppable
12u girls who have brought a combination of shutdown pitching and consistent batting to every
game they've played.
The Black Ice 18U fought through two rain delays and a high seed, powering through four games
to take the gold medals at ASA Catonsville Chaos for the Cure. The team piled runs on Forest Hill
Heat, Bayside Blues, Maryland Stars, and Angels Fastpitch, and the stellar defense and ace
pitchers kept opponents off the boards. The girls now boast an ASA berth to the Eastern "A"
Nationals in Salem, Virginia.
Congrats to both teams on spectacular weekends!
